Comscore published the results of a study last week investigating social media usage in the Netherlands. It appears that 26.1% are active on LinkedIn and 26.8% on Twitter. This places the Netherlands at the top of the global list for Twitter and LinkedIn usage.

Of the 11.953 people who were active on the internet in the month of March, 11.490 visited a social network website. While Hyves is still the largest social network site in the Netherlands, Facebook seems to be catching up. The Netherlands is currently one of the few countries where Facebook is not the largest social network. Facebook rose by no less than 76%, while Hyves dropped by 1%. Hyves also dropped 3% in unique visitors last year ( nu.nl ). A clear upward trend can also be seen on Twitter and LinkedIn.
