Anonymous. Perhaps you have heard of this name. Anonymous is a type of organization without organizers. They have no fixed members or leaders. Anyone can easily join. Anonymous strives for freedom of internet traffic. They want all information on the internet to be accessible to everyone. In the past, they have also taken down other major websites. The new plan: Facebook will be hacked.
Anonymous
Anonymous has indicated that Facebook is being hacked. This is scheduled to happen on November 5. Previously, websites belonging to PayPal, VISA, MasterCard, and the Swiss bank Postfinance, among others, have already been taken down. Anonymous is an organization that advocates for the freedom of internet traffic and is therefore a supporter of WikiLeaks. The aforementioned companies blocked or closed accounts and refused to process payments to WikiLeaks. As a result, Anonymous came up with the idea to take down these websites and thereby demonstrate support for WikiLeaks. The hacking of the websites took place under the name: “Operation Payback”.
Facebook and your privacy
After these large companies, it is now the turn of the world's largest social media platform. The reason for this: Facebook allegedly does not provide the user privacy it promises. For instance, they are said to be selling information to government agencies in countries including Egypt and Syria. Anonymous has also indicated that it makes absolutely no difference how you have your privacy settings configured. Your information always remains available to Facebook. Even if you delete your account, it is of no use. There might be another reason behind this as well. Anonymous plans to develop its own social platform, which is to be called AnonPlus.
Is Facebook being hacked?
At the moment, it is still very vague. Is the plan going ahead? Will Facebook be hacked? There are doubts; there are reports that not all members want to cooperate with the plan to hack Facebook. But we will never know for sure. On November 5, we will see whether or not it happens. Will Facebook be hacked or not? Exciting.
I am very curious, will they succeed in taking down a global social media platform with more than 750 million users? Personally, to be honest, I would consider it an amazing achievement by Anonymous. What is your opinion on the plan to shut down Facebook?
