Updates are available for Google+ again. For instance, you can now join the conversation about trending topics via the new 'What's Hot' feature. This way, you won't miss a thing, from beautiful photos to the latest world news. You can also now edit your own photos with Google+. When you do this, you can of course share them directly with the rest of the world.
Have you edited a photo of your own and want to know where it is going? You can view this with the new analytics feature, Ripple. This allows you to track all public posts. This way, you can see exactly who is forwarding which photos or online messages.
Google apps
The biggest update is that Google Apps users can now also activate Google+. This was not previously the case, which is strange considering that app users paid for it but could not use Google+. With this development, Google+ will most likely gain many new users. They expect this because 4 million organizations currently use Google Apps, including 40 million active users. In the Netherlands, too, various organizations use Google Apps to facilitate internal sharing and collaboration. Multinationals such as KLM and Ahold, among others, use Google Apps as a means of mutual communication.
Google Apps capabilities
Why do so many organizations actually use Google Apps? Google Apps has many features that are useful in the business world. For instance, people can naturally email each other via Gmail and share files via Google Docs. When someone wants to know something quickly, they can ask the question via Google Talk, and scheduling an appointment is done via Google Calendar. These apps make it easier for colleagues to reach each other and keep one another informed. Now, the updates to Google+ are being added to this. Of course, the fact that Google Apps users can now also install Google+ does not automatically mean that they will do so, but the new Google+ updates do offer benefits. Thanks to the aforementioned Ripple, an organization can keep track of exactly where their posted content goes and how many Google+ users it reaches.
Google Business Pages
It isn't here yet, but many have been waiting for it for a while: Google Business Pages. This means that an organization has its own profile page on Google+, specifically tailored to the fact that it is an organization. Through this page, an organization can maintain contact with (potential) customers.
In this way, the combination of Google apps and Google+ ensures that a company can communicate optimally, both internally and externally.
