Google recently introduced its own version of Facebook. With Google+, you can create your own profile and add contacts. On Facebook, you also have the option to create an account as a company. Google is now working hard to develop a business version of Google+.
You can organize your contacts in Google+ into different "Circles". For example, you can create a circle for friends, family, colleagues, and other groups. When you want to share something, you can specify which circles you want to share this information with. Facebook also has this option, but the Google+ circles are much more user-friendly.
Naturally, a business version is inevitable for a platform like this. That is why Google is busy testing a business version. When will it be released? Product Manager Christian Oestlien explains in the video below that it will be "later this year."
Why is the business version taking so long to arrive? Google wants to offer companies a truly useful platform. They want to provide businesses with a "unique experience." This will therefore be clearly different from the personal version. For instance, there will be the option to connect with AdWords via Google+. Additionally, you can link your Twitter and LinkedIn accounts to Google+. This allows you to easily share information across various channels.
So, it remains a bit unclear when companies will be able to start using Google+. However, I am very curious to see how the battle between Facebook and Google+ will unfold.
