Instagram recently introduced a new feature called Instagram Stories. With this new feature, you can record photos and short videos of up to 10 seconds that are visible to your followers for 24 hours and then disappear. This might sound familiar to many people because Snapchat offers a similar function. Better to copy something good than to come up with something bad? Read more about this new feature below.
How does Instagram Stories work?
At the top of your timeline, you will find the round profile pictures of the people you follow who have uploaded a story. If one of these people adds a new photo or video to their story, the profile picture will get a colored border. You can only react to stories from people who also follow you by sending a message (bottom left).
You can swipe right on your timeline or tap the black round icon in the top left to add your story. As for the editing options for your story: you can of course use an Insta filter and add text and Emojis (in the text line).

What do we think of the new feature?
Although we had hoped (and perhaps even expected) that Instagram would come up with a more unique feature, we certainly consider it a welcome addition to Instagram. After all, we are fans of Snapchat too!
This feature also ensures more exposure due to the fixed location of the Instagram stories. Especially after the last update of Instagram. This update caused photos on your timeline to be displayed not in chronological order, but based on interests. This update was not well received by Instagram users and businesses. It was expected that Instagram would lose a significant number of users following this development. Now, it is expected that Instagram will replace Snapchat with this new feature.
